Me and therapy room
The safe and trusting space that gets shaped in the therapy room enables the client to travel to parts of their psyche with the therapist, which was impossible to do alone, perhaps because it seemed difficult or scary. During this journey, we reach the depth and roots of the problems in the subconscious. We identify repetitive behavioural patterns that hinder progress, relaxation, tranquillity, intimacy, and the desire to live. We also consider how significant life relationships and early parent-child relationships overshadow our current relationships and prevent effective communication.
By identifying the obstacles and being aware of them, the client ultimately becomes familiar with their limitations and the reasons behind them and, ultimately, can build a new path along with the therapist through awareness and creativity and gain access to more choices in life that are less restrictive. Enthusiasm and commitment of both sides of the therapeutic relationship are vital in this journey.
