Me and therapy room
In analytic psychotherapy, the client brings everything they have lived and experienced into the therapy room, including their pains, joys, angers, disappointments, and more. The therapeutic journey begins with the client’s words and continues with free associations. The client sets the direction of the sessions, while the therapist, a trained observer, illuminates the dark areas of the client’s psyche by finding connections among associations, dreams, and interpretations, guiding the course of the sessions. The process of healing and transformation unfolds with the close accompaniment of both therapist and client within the therapeutic space. The analytic therapist listens to the client’s associations with non-judgment and complete confidentiality, allowing repressed thoughts and feelings to surface, be examined, and, over time, contribute to greater self-awareness, enhanced ability to handle life’s challenges, and improved interpersonal relationships.
