Me and therapy room
I view psychotherapy as an opportunity to move closer to parts of ourselves that are not always easily seen or heard; feelings that are difficult to understand, reactions that sometimes surprise us, and patterns that repeat themselves without us intending them to.
In the therapy room, it is important to me that before we try to change something, we first understand it: where this feeling, thought, or behavior comes from, when it once helped us, and what role it plays today. We are not meant to fight against ourselves; we are meant to understand ourselves better, recognize what is no longer helping us, and create new choices for what we want.
